Answers to our most frequently asked questions:

What is Soft Washing?
Soft Washing is a cleaning technique that uses low pressure (about the same as your garden hose) and specialized cleaning solutions to safely remove organic growth like mildew, algae, moss, and lichens from exterior surfaces.

What kind of cleaning agents do you use?
We use a proprietary mix of cleaning agents that is customized for every property. Our biodegradable cleaning solution typically includes water, various surfactants, and sodium hypochlorite which is commonly used as a sanitizing agent in swimming pools. Besides being excellent at eliminating bacteria, contaminants, and algae growth, it's often used in our municipal drinking water and wastewater treatment systems.

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. If the unexpected happens, rest assured we are covered with robust General Liability and Workers Comp policies.

Will the algaecide harm my plants?
Landscape damage is a very uncommon occurrence, however there is small risk of leaf burn with some Soft Washing projects. We take every precaution to divert runoff away from your plant babies and immediately dilute any overspray that may inadvertently contact the landscaping.

How long will it be before I need to call you back?
It depends. The reoccurrence of organic growth on your exterior surfaces after Soft Washing is mostly due to the microclimate of your neighborhood. Other factors that can speed up the return of organic growth are the pitch of your roof, roofing type, paint type, presence of trees/overgrowth, location of plants/sprinklers, and the usual weather patterns of your neighborhood. Generally speaking, we see more organic growth in Mauka neighborhoods where rain is a more common occurrence. Makai neighborhoods tend to be drier and dustier, however can still be prone to buildup of organic growth.

Can you remove red dirt stains?
In most cases homeowners will see a massive improvement when washing surfaces with non-organic soiling such as dust, dirt, and grime. However, it’s prudent for homeowners to understand that some surfaces are subject to permanent staining from long term exposure to non-organic soiling.

How many workers will be here?
Depending on the size of the cleaning project, our typical wash crew is 2-4 techs. We try to work as efficiently and effectively as possible to minimize disruption to our clients and their neighbors.

How do you accept payment?
We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. There is no additional charge for using your credit card.
